Gallery: OArt - 12A Vyner St, London

Exhibition: Emi Miyashita

Very fine little drawings.

With 3 drawings she makes us look through a lock hole curved out of the top of a black wooden box, which is lid from below, to see them. All her drawings have something to do with breasts, penises, sex and little people that play with these personal body parts that become objects. For example the little people cut in penises or eat breast cakes.

Magnifying glasses next to the frames because the drawings are that detailed.

For me the drawings represent the lust (food and drinks) and enjoyment of a body in both good and bad ways. The presentation is too kitsch: golden chains attached to the magnifying glasses and binoculars, a square of red carpet on the floor and pink/white flowery wall paper.

Golden or very dark brown frames make the work work more small in the space.
